Shopping Service

Hugh Lewis Shopping enables UK and Northern Ireland customers to buy outdoor products for delivery to any address within the UK & Northern Ireland. We aim to deliver the best possible customer service and therefore adhere to all the current and proposed legislation and trade body guidelines. The conditions below do not affect your statutory rights according to United Kingdom law.

Customer Support and Service

You can access our customer support and service department by using our telephone number 01625 860600. We are available for Monday to Sunday inclusive between  9.15am and 5pm.

Complaint Handling Procedure

Any complaint will be dealt with fairly, confidentially and effectively and will be acknowledged within 5 working days (or sooner). We aim to resolve any dispute that may arise within 1 week or sooner. Faulty goods under warranty  will be replaced  within 4 working days after we have received them back, unless they are no longer available in which case a refund will be offered and put into action  immediately. We will always keep the customer fully informed about our actions in the event of a complaint or faulty goods. We will also bear the cost of any carriage arising from the return of faulty goods. Cancellation Rights

In response to the new European Directive on distance selling, incorporated into UK law by The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) regulations 2000, the consumer will have the right to cancel and return goods within 7 days of receiving them as long as they have not been used and are in the original packaging. The consumer will bear the cost of returning the goods to us. We will refund within 30 days of receiving the goods back (cancellation).

Delivery Zones

United Kingdom includes The UK mainland, Northern Ireland and all of the Islands. Due to the weight and length of some items, it may be necessary to charge more for delivery to the Scottish Highland area, UK islands and Northern Ireland. All other UK areas will be at our standard rate

Eire, The Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are considered as outside the UK by the Royal Mail. We therefore apply the appropriate delivery methods to these addresses.

Payment

All orders are positively credit card sanctioned prior to dispatch, so please ensure that the details you enter are correct. We can accept no responsibility if any order is held up as a result of incorrect payment details being given.

The total value of your order will be displayed on the order confirmation screen. The displayed price is the amount in pounds sterling that you will pay including any TAX where applicable.

All prices quoted include VAT at 20%. We include a carriage/handling contribution charge of £3.95 per order. If you are eligible to reclaim VAT, we can supply (on request) a VAT receipt.

If you would like to pay by cheque, just send us the cheque with your order number on the back and allow 10 days for the cheque to clear.

Delivery

Our aim is to deliver by next working day service (not Highlands or Islands) - (however we normally allow one day's grace to let our customers make their arrangements, unless requested to ship immediately by our customer) Our database is usually kept up to date, so, except in exceptional circumstances, if the item is shown, then it is in stock and ready to be shipped. There may be one or two occasions when we have 'oversold' a product and have not been able to update the database quickly enough. In this case the customer would be informed straight away and given the option to change to another product or to have an immediate refund. We will endeavour to provide the most likely availability dates for the most seasonal items and "out of season" there may well be special offers on some lines. You will see expected availability dates on the most seasonal products on the individual product pages. Please get in touch if in any doubt.

A record is kept of your purchases and we may, in future, inform you of any special offers or information about the products that you have purchased. Your purchase details however will not be shared with any other company or individual.
